We stock Alder in two grades: Premium Frame "knotty" allows for large knots, splits, and others defects and Superior Grade, referred to by many as "clear", is not necessarily clear but allows for small knots and no splits.

Starting April 3rd, 2010 the Hopkins Yard will be open
on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for lumber
yard pickups and selections in our showroom.
Minneapolis Yard Closing December 30th
To our loyal customers: The Scherer Bros.’ Minneapolis Yard location will close on December 30, 2009. We will relocate all operations, including Customer Service, to our other locations. Building materials and services will be found at our other three retail sites in Arden Hills, Hopkins and Shakopee. Window Service will move to Champlin in early January, Millwork will remain in Minneapolis until further notice.
